Aadhaar PDFs, Form 16s, bank and card statements, EPF passbooks and policy
documents all arrive encrypted, with a password derived from your own details —
first four letters of your name plus date of birth, PAN in lower case, the last
four digits of an account number. It protects the file in transit and then
becomes a small tax on every future use: you cannot merge it, you cannot attach
it anywhere that will not prompt, and you retype the password every time you
open it.
Unlock PDF removes that layer permanently from a copy, so the file behaves like
any other PDF.
What you need
The password. This is a decryption tool, not a cracking tool — DesiDocs cannot
open a file whose password you do not know, and will not try. If the document is
one you received, the sender's covering email or SMS almost always states the
format.
Only remove protection from documents you own or are authorised to handle. That
is the entire basis on which this tool is offered.
What comes out
A PDF with the same pages, text, images and signatures, minus the encryption. It
opens without a prompt anywhere, and can then be merged, compressed, split or
attached normally. Nothing about the visible content changes.

Handling of the file and the password
The PDF is uploaded over an encrypted connection and the password is used once,
in memory, to decrypt it. Neither the password nor the file is logged or stored,
and the upload and the unlocked copy are deleted within 30 minutes by an
